Nationwide member Rachel C., pet parent to Boo Boo Bean, wanted to find a name that captured the essence of her new ferret family member. She says, “He haphazardly jumps and hops around merrily without care or worry of what consequences it might bring. He reminds me of a jumping bean—bopping about, blind to his surroundings.”
It doesn’t hurt that Boo Bean resembles a little legume in the way that he lounges and sleeps: “His body resembles the shape of a bean; he's just a plump, softly shaped, little round thing.
“Boo often acts without using his brain first,” she continues. “His bouncing often causes him to bump into things, fall off of furniture, and to trip and roll. However he doesn't mind, any mistake he makes is a fun, exciting experience. He's just a happy, clumsy little Boo Boo Bean!”
Boo has a mischievous side, too. Rachel says, “He loves getting into trouble by hiding things, knocking stuff over, and finding new places to 'break into' and wreak havoc.” But at the end of the day, there’s nothing he enjoys more than snuggling up with his sweet sister, Hummy Fuzzle.
Rachel decided early on to get protection for her clumsy Bean, lest he experience any Boo Boos that required veterinary treatment. She chose Nationwide for their exotic pet coverage: “Because I wanted him to be protected no matter what might happen, and Nationwide has the best insurance for ferrets!”
