A name befitting a princess—a princess of the land of Wacky Pet Names, that is.
Nationwide member and doggie mom Charlene O. combined numerous references into one marvelously regal pet name for the ages. In doing so, she drew influence from numerous varied sources: "One Love," a celebration of the connection with her pet and the iconic Bob Marley song; "Tiny Dancer," a nod to the Elton John song and her little prancing moves; and "Princess Margaret Windsor," the fiercely independent sister of the late Queen Elizabeth II ("I have British ancestry," Charlene explains).
Like most royals, One Love Tiny Dancer Princess Margaret Rose Windsor's court contains her closest confidants including her sister, a long haired chihuahua Victoria Alexandra (named for another British royal) and a calico cat, Countess Coco Chanel (a unique nod to the queen of pre-war fashion design).
For a pup with a regal name, she loves to nurture the ones closest to her. Charlene reports, “She cleans her aunt and the cat by licking them.” And like any benevolent ruler, Princess Margaret Rose gives back to her adoring public—by using her highly tuned senses to benefit others in her work as a multiple sclerosis signal dog.
Charlene is sure to get the royal treatment for her beloved long-haired chihuahua, including her veterinary care—which is why she protects Princess Margaret with pet health coverage from Nationwide. Charlene adds, “High veterinary costs make [pet insurance] a must.”
