It’s said that the names of the great conquerors echo throughout history: Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Napoleon … and Lulu.
Doggie dad and Nationwide member Miguel H. tells us the origin of this wild and wacky name: “Her shelter name was already Lulu, but since we thought it was adorable as is, we decided to keep it because she's pretty adorable, too.”
While Miguel decided his chiweenie had a fitting name for her cuteness, it didn’t capture the totality of her personality. He continues, “’The Conqueror’ is the middle name we gave her because, although she is small of stature—less than 15 lbs.—she will have at it with our 60 lb. staffy mix and just pounce, grapple, roll around with, tackle and steal treats from her! Lulu The Conqueror is absolutely fearless … she will always dominate, unfailingly victorious as the supreme conqueror she is.”
After a long and tiring day campaigning against her rivals, Lulu likes to get snuggly with her humans. Miguel says, “She burrows under the blankets at night when we sleep and she will lay right next to my calf or thigh, completely submerged under a blanket (of her own will).”
Miguel says that it was an easy choice to get insurance for Lulu. "Our other pets were also covered by Nationwide and Nationwide is very professional," he says. Luckily, he could get coverage for his little conqueror through his employer. "We were offered Nationwide pet insurance through our jobs."
