Inspiration doesn’t always need to come from practical sources—sometimes the best name is impractically perfect and wacky to boot. Take for example, ChugChug Pickles, who was named by dog mom and Nationwide member Erin B. after the paw-pular improv hidden camera show, Impractical Jokers.
“I’m a huge fan of Impractical Jokers,” Erin says. “They play a game called the name game where they say funny names and try not to laugh.” Other purely wacky selections from the show include Kiwi Frankencop, Dr. Shrimp Puerto Rico and Count Ravioli to name a few.
She continues, “There were many [names on the show] that I loved, but when I met ChugChug for the first time—it just fit his face and personality. He is 100% ChugChug Pickles.”
Like his namesake cucumber concoction, ChugChug Pickles is a little crunchy, a little sweet—and perfect in every way. “Looks aside, because he has a glorious beard and the cutest underbite that shows all his bottom teeth, he has the best personality,” Erin says. “He’s playful and full of zoomies and he’s also the most snuggly. They call Brussels Griffons ‘Velcro dogs,’ and he is completely stuck to me. I’m honored that he chose me.”
Erin’s previous experiences pet parenting led her to get pet insurance for ChugChug Pickles. “I had a Boston Terrier for 15 years…. It was very expensive. So, I said I will never go without pet insurance again.”
